Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently is a competitor with the UFC flyweight division. Valentina is her younger sister, as well as a fellow UFC participant. Antonina Shevchenko began her career as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She debuted in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner with a unanimous verdict. Antonina later won an award of Silver in 2007 and a Bronze Medal in 2008, a gold medal in the year 2011, and the IFMA Amateure Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships 2012, the Lightweight Lion Fight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final bout took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She was able to win by a unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko set her professional MMA records in 2002 when she faced Anara Bazanova at KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She was 3-0 after winning in the second round TKO. The next two fights were won at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko took a hiatus to concentrate on boxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko was able to defeat Anissa by a majority vote and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in the year 2017. In 2018, she left the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina showed off her striking prowess by TKOing Nievera with knees. Antonina accepted the UFC invitation following her win. Antonina Shevchenko made her debut in UFC during her debut at the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting match against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight, after prevailing in the initial fight by unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko was 1-2 over her next 3 fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but fell to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently knocked out by KO in round two to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
